达赖喇嘛在蒙特利尔的行程
His Holiness the Dalai Lama arrived in Montreal this afternoon for a two-day visit to the town. At the airport, His Holiness was received by
Kasur Lobsang Nyandak Zayul, Representative of H.H. the Dalai Lama to the Americas,
Prof. Arvind Sharma of McGill University, who is the convenor of the second Global Congress on World’s Religions after September 11; and Ms. Shelagh Mills of the Canada Tibet Committee, which are hosting him for this visit.
On his arrival at the hotel, His Holiness alighted from his car ahead of the entrance to acknowledge the greetings of members of the Tibetan community and other well-wishers who had gathered there. Two children of the community offered the traditional Droso Chema as the people sang a song of welcome in Tibetan. Among those who received him included Khensur Lobsang Jamyang of the Manjushri Buddhist Centre; Ms. Dicky Choyang, member of the Tibetan Parliament from North America; and Mr. Tashi Wangyal, president of the Tibetan Cultural Association of Quebec (Tibetan Community in Montreal).
On September 7, 2011, His Holiness will be visiting the Manjushri Buddhist Centre and giving an audience to the Tibetan community. He will then deliver a keynote address to the Second Global Congress on World’s Religions after September 11 and give a public talk in the afternoon, organized by the Canada Tibet Committee.
Manjushri Buddhist Center is a Tibetan Buddhist Center for practice and study located in Longueuil, a suburb on the South shore of Montreal in Canada. We offer refuge and teachings in the Gelupa tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, with his Holiness the Dalai Lama's blessing
The center is under the direction of Venerable Khen sur Rinpoche Lobsang Jamyang, the current abbot of Sera May Monastery in India. Regular teachings on Buddhist philosophy (Sutra and Tantra) and practices as well as Tantric initiations, privatre interviews and counseling for his students are held here. Teachings given in Tibetan are always translated into English and French and most of the time into Vietnamese as well, fulfilling our wish to help as many people as possible
Venerable Khen sur Rinpoche Lobsang Jamyang was born near Lithang (Eastern Tibet) in 1933. He attended Sera May College of Sera Monastic University in Lhasa. After the Chinese invasion of Tibet in 1959, he followed His Holiness the Dalai Lama into exile and continued his studies in the same University, then re-established in South India, in Karnataka state. There he received the coveted degree of Geshe Lharampa, the equivalent of a ph.d in buddhist philosophy. He is also an honoured graduate of Gyudmed Tantric College. In 1996, he was appointed by the Dalai Lama to be the Abbot of Sera May Monastery. The same year, he founded Manjushri Buddhist Center in Longueuil.
